Christmas Morning 2010 |
It's 2010 and several things have
changed. Our kids are of course older we now have a Freshman in High
School, a 6th grader, and a 1st grader. As we
always do around September/October my husband and I began thinking
about Christmas. We get a loose budget together and talk about gift
ideas or different items that the kids have been asking for.
Since 2/3 of our kids were getting a
bit older we had been talking about making a vacation around
Christmas...
time part of everyone's gift. We kinda mentioned the
vacation idea again, said a cruise would be fun or a trip to Disney
World would be great too. We talked about paintball guns, American
Girl Dolls, and bikes. With no real decisions made we went got swept
up in Marching Band and Football Games.
Around November I saw some pictures of
another family that we knew that had sailed on the Wonder that past
October. The pictures were gorgeous and they looked like they had
such a great time. Remembering our past experience with the cruise
line website I was reluctant to put myself thru that agony again.
Expecting a good laugh, because prices must be a Gazillion dollars
now, I logged on the site and started looking around again. That is
when I saw the most glorious section of the website, the Special
Offers Section. Disney was offering Kids Sail Free (KSF) for January 3rd
2011. This was a 5 day double dip cruise. (a double dip means two
stops at Disney's Private Island, Castaway Cay) We decided right
then to book and surprise the kids at Christmas with a Disney Cruise.
I hurriedly called the cruise line and
tried to book. After looking for 10 minutes the cast member on the
phone found a room for 5 and snatched it, it was the last room for 5
on the cruise. The total price for the cruise was less than 3,000
dollars for 5 people!
Our very next thoughts...OMG were
going on a Disney Cruise!!!, and how will we surprise the kids?
I have never been on a Disney Cruise, but it sounds like fun. Enjoy!
